John Douglas Bowden, known professionally as Effin, is a Nashville-based bass music producer and DJ who blends trance influences, heavy sub-bass, and nostalgic sampling to craft emotive yet intense soundscapes. His sophomore album Daydreams dropped in 2025, following his 2023 debut Cheap Thrills, and he’s been embraced by Insomniac as a “bass innovator” credited with pushing the boundaries of dubstep, bass, and hybrid styles. He’s toured extensively across North America, headlined festival stages, and continues evolving as a boundary-pushing force in modern bass music.
