Sharif Laffrey is a Detroit-born DJ and producer whose decades-long underground career has made him a key figure in the Motor City electronic scene. He founded the label Special Forces and has released on ESP Institute, Love on the Rocks, Discos Capablanca, and Phantasy, often blending raw, hypnotic grooves with acid-tinged textures. His sets are deep journeys, weaving tension, release and intricate percussion across long sets. A longtime disciple of Detroit’s rave ethos, Sharif continues to operate in the shadows while earning deep respect from tastemakers globally.
