Born in France and based in New York City since 1975, François Kevorkian is a foundational figure in the evolution of modern dance music. Emerging from the booths of Studio 54 and Paradise Garage, he helped define the sound of the 1980s through his A&R work at Prelude Records and era defining remixes like Dinosaur L's "Go Bang #5" in 1982 on Sleeping Bag Records and Yazoo's "Situation" in 1982 on Sire. As a DJ and producer, his catalog includes solo classics like 1995's "Hypnodelic" on his own Wave Music imprint, showcasing a deep, dub influenced, and highly eclectic aesthetic that moves seamlessly across house, techno, and disco. He cofounded the iconic Body & Soul parties alongside Danny Krivit and Joe Claussell, and anchored the long running Deep Space residency at Cielo. Recently, he has continued to push technological boundaries by performing live stem mixing sets, while maintaining a rigorous international touring schedule with 2026 appearances at Dekmantel and across Australia.
