Jek, the DJ and producer Jack Anderson, is originally from Seattle, Washington and is now based in Brooklyn, New York. He is the co-founder of Earth Dog Records, the New York City label and party series he runs alongside djfix, known for its DIY raves, podcast series, and vinyl releases. His sets lean on progressive and tech house with a psychedelic, tribal edge, built from bass driven grooves, pitch bent basslines, and hypnotic, trance inducing arrangements that nod to 1990s New York progressive house. His collaborative releases with djfix, including Unknown Species and Planatek, anchor the Earth Dog catalog on vinyl. He has appeared at the label's nights across venues such as Nowadays, Le Bain, and Mood Ring, and hosts recurring Earth Dog broadcasts on The Lot Radio. Jek matters now as one of the connectors in New York's independent, exploratory dance underground.
