About

Luke Solomon is a British house DJ and producer from London whose career reaches back to the early 1990s. In 1994 he co-founded the label Classic Music Company with Derrick Carter, an imprint that helped define a soulful, quirky strain of house across the UK and the United States. He scored crossover chart success with his band Freaks and has since become head of A&R at Defected Records, where he curates releases and hosts the Business as Usual radio show. As a producer he has contributed to records by Honey Dijon and to Beyonce's Renaissance, work that earned Grammy recognition. His DJ sets, heard at clubs and festivals including Defected Croatia alongside longstanding London and Ibiza appearances, favor deep, disco-tinged grooves and Chicago house roots. Now decades into his career, he remains a connective figure between house music's origins and its present, shaping new talent through Classic and Defected.
