London-born musician, DJ and broadcaster Nabihah Iqbal (fka Throwing Shade) blurs the lines between indie-leaning dream pop and leftfield electronics. Her debut album “Weighing of the Heart” (2017) and the follow-up “Dreamer” (2023) arrived on Ninja Tune, expanding a palette of gauzy guitars, motorik bass and atmospheric synth work. A regular on NTS Radio and BBC 6 Music, she tours internationally with club and live band sets, from Lowlands and WOMAD to The Lot Radio and a 2025 Royal Albert Hall performance. Boiler Room and KEXP sessions underline a selector’s ear and songwriter’s touch, while recent remixes and collaborations continue to bridge club culture and art spaces. Active for over a decade, she remains a thoughtful presence at the intersection of dance floors and alternative pop.
