OVEOUS is a New York City based multidisciplinary artist working as a DJ, producer and live vocalist across house and Afro house. His sets fold spoken word and soulful, ancestral leaning vocals into productions released on Yoruba Records, Atjazz Record Company and his own Moca Arts imprint. He is a three time National Poetry Slam finalist who has collaborated with Roy Ayers, Louie Vega, Osunlade and Ursula Rucker, and his 2018 track Queimar with QVLN was named a top track of the year by Traxsource. His performance history spans HBO and Showtime at the Apollo, alongside club and festival dates across the United States. OVEOUS treats the dancefloor as a space for ritual and release, blending house music with poetry and live singing rather than a standard DJ set. That hybrid of song, spoken word and groove keeps him in regular rotation at ceremony minded parties like House of Yes's Sonic Ceremony series.
