Shvili, born Tatia Gabidzashvili, is a selector and DJ originating from Tbilisi, Georgia, now based in Brooklyn, New York City. A classically trained pianist with a background in music therapy, she cultivated her deep underground sound during societal isolation, focusing on vinyl. Her sets are characterized by infectious grooves, deftly weaving together old house records, break-y minimal, and other genres to create a compelling narrative. Shvili has graced the decks at prominent venues across the United States, including Public Records, ReSolute, Flash DC, and Apollo Studios, and has shared stages with artists such as Francesco del Garda and Andrey Pushkarev. Her debut production appeared on a compilation for the Tbilisi-based label Pluto's Plan. Shvili's ability to blend diverse musical elements with a playful spirit establishes her as a distinctive voice in contemporary dance music.
