Inside Scoop

One of the best sound systems in New York. No phones in the venue. Even when sold out online, they still sell tickets at the door based on occupancy.

About

High-definition dance club with immersive sound for house and techno lovers.

Refuge is a new hi-def dance club in East Williamsburg built around precision sound, immersive lighting, and a sleek multi-room layout that moves between full-scale dancefloor energy and more intimate lounge spaces. Focused on house, techno, and forward-thinking electronic programming, it feels like a modern Brooklyn club designed for people who actually care about how a room sounds. At its core is REX, a custom four-point analogue system designed by co-founder Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu and acoustically tuned by Al Fierstein of Acoustilog, the legendary engineer behind iconic New York rooms including Studio 54, Paradise Garage, and Sound Factory. The system was built to deliver warmth, depth, and crystal-clear detail across the room, giving Refuge a polished but powerful sonic identity. With its refined production and sound-first philosophy, Refuge is shaping up to be a true sanctuary for dancers, selectors, and serious music heads.
