JKS is a French techno DJ and producer who came up in Paris and now works out of Berlin. A drummer long before he touched a machine, he builds percussive, hypnotic techno leaning on tribal drum loops, rolling hardgroove and a raw physical energy, drawing in UK bass, 140 and broken techno along the way. He first emerged as a founding member of the Molekul collective before launching his own Smile Sessions label in 2020, a platform he uses to develop emerging underground talent. He has recorded a Boiler Room set in Berlin and played HOR Berlin, holds a recurring show on Rinse France, and appears regularly at festivals and clubs including Awakenings, Intercell and RSO Berlin. His records have landed on labels such as Involve Records, Agora Records and OAKS, and he counts Bailey Ibbs among frequent back to back partners. A decade into an underground career, JKS remains one of the more physical, drum-led voices in contemporary techno.
