About

Melodic house producer and Birds That Fly founder known for deeply emotive club tracks.

Matthew Relton operates as Kidnap, a London-based electronic music producer and DJ originally from Sheffield, England. Emerging in the early 2010s under the moniker Kidnap Kid, he gained initial recognition with his 2012 track "Vehl" before transitioning toward a deeper, more emotive house sound. In 2016, he launched his independent imprint Birds That Fly, which served as the home for his breakout single "Moments" featuring Leo Stannard. Kidnap has since released two full-length albums, including his 2019 debut "Grow" and the 2024 sophomore LP "Something Lost, Something Gained," while also issuing tracks on prominent labels like Anjunadeep and Armada Music. His touring history includes performances at major global stages such as Coachella, Glastonbury, and Printworks London. With recent 2026 releases like "Tears" on Cercle Records, Kidnap continues to anchor his position in the melodic house space through rich harmonic tension and organic club grooves.
