Born in Sao Paulo and raised in Buffalo, New York, Volvox emerged as a pivotal figure in the American underground techno scene. Her sound is defined by tough, stripped-back techno, acid-drenched textures, and muscular EBM influences, often described as a visceral soundtrack to an emergency. A former resident at the Bossa Nova Civic Club and a key member of the influential Discwoman collective, she has built a global reputation through high-energy sets at venues like Berghain in Berlin and festivals such as Dekmantel. She remains a dedicated advocate for queer and FLINTA representation in electronic music, currently spearheading the event series ABOV in New York City.
